Where I’m From
I am from Dr. Losier
The school that was my second home,
the team I played for
The teachers I disrespected,
The report cards I dreaded,
The food I hated,
The tests I failed and passed,
The office I knew so well,
The friends I made
The detentions I had earned,
The Place I’d hate to leave,
but mostly the people who care.

Students have begun a short unit on writing book reviews. This means that they will now have to pass in a book review on the last day of each month for March, April, and May.
Their first book review may be on any book they choose that is appropriate for this age group. Their next two reviews must be of books they read and recorded in their reading logs this year.
They may write a review of only one book in a series of books (I strongly suggest they pick their favorite) and may only review books by the same author twice. For example they could review one book from the Twilight series and then review The Host because it is not part of the Twilight series of books.

Students are expected to hand in their essay/speech tomorrow typed and double spaced. Remember to have a cover page with a title for your essay/speech. The title is not 'Speech' or 'Essay' so be sure to come up with a "real" title.
On Monday speech presentations will begin and students should have their cue cards ready. Students are called in random order except for those who volunteer to go first.
Those students who are away next week will present their speeches when they return to school following March Break.
