Hello DLMS Community!

We are excited to start another year.  With new beginnings, we understand that there can be nerves and a desire to know what might have changed.  Below are some big ticket items that can answer some questions.

Masking/COVID Protocols - Students will not be in bubbles this year; they will travel the school from class to class and we will have flex groupings to support learning.  In a learning environment, students can remove their mask.  Everyone at DLMS is required to wear a mask in common areas.  Homeroom teachers will clarifiy this in detail with students on their grade level day.  If parents want more info in this you can check out "Healthy and Safe Schools" from EECD - https://www2.gnb.ca/content/dam/gnb/Departments/ed/pdf/2021-22-guideline...

Staggered Entry - Week 1 (Sept 7-10)

• Tuesday - WEB Day - Grade 6 only + WEB Leaders
• Wednesday - Grade 7&8 Grade Level Day
• Thursday - Grade 6 Grade Level Day
• Friday - All Grades - Knight Day (more details to follow)

Bell Schedule - Link (drop-off and pick-up)

Students can be dropped off or walk to school between - 7:45 and 8:30 - for grade level days and WEB day we ask that all students be in the building by 8:15.

Pick up and Walkers - We will dismiss in the following way:

• 3:10 Walker and Pick-ups (all grades)
• 3:13 Round 1 of buses
• 3:15 Dismiss to cafeteria for late buses

Cafeteria- Both will begin Sept 13 - Students will need a Bagged Lunch and snack for week 1.  Please note that WEB Day we provide snacks, water and lunch.  Break canteen will start in mid-September.

Memos going home - At DLMS, we do not send home newsletters. Instead, we use our school website and social media feeds.  When there are memos going home, they are shared on these platforms.  Also, from time to time we will notify parents using email of school info.  We ask that after your student's grade level day that you review all the memos that go home and return anything that needs to come back ASAP.
