Home Learning for the Week of June 15th- June 19th

Due Date:

Sunday, June 7, 2020

Well Folks this is your last learning option for this school year. I hope you have had a chance to try out some fun and challenging things. They will be here all summer, so if you didn't get a chance to do some things you can come back anytime.

Math- I would hope that you will be continuing to do Dream Box for as long as you can. You should be working at least 20 minutes a day. I think it will be available to the end of the month.

If you are looking for a no-tech option, you can play cards, sudoku, or any board game. In the past couple of weeks, I have given you a few card games to play. Do you need to practice your times tables? I would suggest you go over them, it is such an essential skill. Have a competition with a sibling or friend.

I've enclosed the solution to the problem of the week from last week. Check it out. If you have not tried it yet, give it a try.

Science- The new ASD-N STEM flyer is available. This week we are building boats. You can try out your boat in a sink or in a bucket outside. You can build your boat out of any material you can find. Look in your recycling bin, you will be amazed of what you can use to make a boat that will float. Have fun.

My suggested activity is to make an Ice Volcano. Let's try a little chemical reaction. Of course, this is something we would not do in school, as it has to be done outside. I think you'll love to watch your volcano fizz and melt outside. I'm enclosing the link to make your Ice Volcano. http://www.readingconfetti.com/2013/08/ice-volcanoes.html

All you need is water, baking soda, vinegar, food coloring, a container to make your volcano, and golf Balls(or any balls that will sink).  I hope that you can give this a try and have some fun with Science.

Stay well over the summer and be kind to one another. See you all soon.
