Hi friends

I hope you had a lovely weekend and are ready to do some home learning. With the nice weather that is coming this week, get up and do some work early so that you have the rest of the day to yourself.

Math- Dreambox is your go-to for Math. At this point you should be doing about 25-30 minutes a day. If you run into problems or have any questions let me know. I will do my best to help you out. Remember to finish one lesson before you move on to another.

Did you try out last week's problem of the week? If not I've enclosed the question and the answer. I've also uploaded a new question for you to work on. Have some fun and give them a try.

For a no-tech required math practice how about a game of 21.

Object: be the closest to 21 without going over! Each player is dealt two cards to start. Each player has the option to take another card to attempt to improve their hand to the number 21. If they go over or “bust” they get 0 points. If they are the closest to 21 without going over, they get 1 point. If there is a tie, all the players that are tied get 1 point. If they get 21 on the first 2 cards dealt, they get 2 points. The first player to 10 points wins.

Science- the new STEM flyer for ASD-N is ready. Please see the enclosed upload. This week it involves making a Rube Goldberg machine. You can construct one outside or inside. Take a look at how it is done. Get your siblings and friends involved in making one. Only your imagination will limit you.

If you are interested in building things. I thought that this week you could try to make a box that could keep a can or juice box cold(no ice). Use materials you have on hand at home. Look around you will be surprised what you can use. Newspaper is wonderful insulation. You can use this website as a starting guide. https://sciencing.com/make-own-cooler-science-project-6703910.html

You may not have all the materials they use but improvise. Have some fun and send me your photos of how you made out.

Have a great week of Learning. Miss you all.
