April Drama Practices

Posted: April 2, 2011

The dates for our spring production have been changed to Monday, April 18 and Wednesday, April 20. This will allow us to participate in the Benefit for Japan being held at James M. Hill on April 14, 2011. (our originally scheduled date).  I felt that it was more important to participate in this fund raiser.   It will be a wonderful opportunity for the kids and shows good community support.  We have 10 minutes to perform and will perform either the scene where Gilbert calls Anne carrots or when Anne insults Mrs. Lynde.  I’d prefer the “Carrots!” scene because it involves more kids.  I will send home a notice when we decide which scene will be featured. It’s hard to believe that we are only two weeks away!  Students are learning their songs and perfecting their characters.  How can you help?  Please help them practice their lines and give honest feedback.  Encourage good pronunciation, emotion, emphasis, volume and speed. Attendance is critical at this stage in the game.  Everyone needs to be at practice regardless of the amount of lines to deliver.  There are no small parts; everyone is needed!  We are now ready to finesse this play with good timing, scene changes and musical parts.                Monday, April 4  2:35-4:30p.m.   Both acts- complete run through to time our performance Tuesday,  April 5 2:35-4:30p.m     Everyone- singing, props, painting  and practicing scenes  that   need work                 Thursday,  April 7 2:35-4:30 p.m.  Both acts; complete run through  Monday, April 11 2:35-4:30p.m.   Both acts; complete run through  Tuesday, April  12 2:35-4:30p.m    Everyone- singing, props, painting  and practicing  scenes   that need work               Thursday, April  14 2:35-4:30p.m   Both acts                 Saturday, April 16  Full dress rehearsal  10:00- 3:00                  Monday, April 18  9:30 Dress rehearsal in front of an invited school First public performance at 6:30p.m.  Students should be at school no later than 5:00p.m. to get  make-up, hair and costumes.               Wednesday, April 20  9:30 Dress rehearsal in front of an invited school Second  public performance at 6:30p.m.  Students should be at school no later than 5:00p.m. to get  make-up, hair and costumes.
