Money raised during the event is earmarked for the Kids' Healthy Breakfast Program in Miramichi area schools.NBCC Miramichi and the Historic Chatham Business District Organizers are proud to announce the annual “APEGNB
Pumpkin Fling” is ready to roll, blast, race and paint pumpkins again! Come help us celebrate 10 years!
Presented by Engineers and Geoscientists New Brunswick (APEGNB), NBCC Miramichi and Sunny Corner Enterprises,
the APEGNB Pumpkin Fling was conceived by members of the APEGNB’s Northeastern Branch as a way to encourage kids to pursue careers in
science and engineering. “Every year, we try to introduce a new way of showcasing basic engineering principles such as
aerodynamics, friction and gravity,” says coordinator and civil engineer, Kevin Gallant, P.Eng.
Prizes are awarded for those pumpkins that land closest to the trampoline target in the river. The day starts off at noon which
includes a children's parade start and pumpkin registration. Events include pumpkin painting, face painting, a pumpkin roller
coaster, Rotary Chili cook-off, pony rides, vendors, pumpkin croquet and of course the main attraction: the pumpkin blast!
The APEGNB Pumpkin Fling is proud to be associated with community-minded businesses such as:
City of Miramichi Recreation Department, Lockerbie Farms, Miramichi River Boat Tours, Rodd Inns and Suites,
All Decked-Out, Tozer's Insurance, Canadian Dollar Store, BMO, Station Wharf Marina, and Country Charm Bakery.
Thanks also to the many staff and student volunteers from the Applied Arts department at NBCC Miramichi for their
generous support.
