I look forward to meeting the parents of my students tonight at 6:00 p.m. in the theatre.   Today all students were tested on the Star Reader program and they signed out novels at their reading level. This is one tool that I'll use to track their reading comprehension. Read for 30 minutes tonight and be prepared to say one thing about what you read. Examples: I really liked it when...I'm wondering...I can see a clear picture in my head...I feel sorry for... Can you believe...?  Wow! Today in my story.  This is a part of a reading response that students will begin doing on a nightly basis.    Bring a duotang and have your novel in a plastic ziploc bag for tomorrow please! :)
