Class 8C is beginning a fundraiser for the Miramichi Women's Emergency Shelter. The shelter is in need of toiletries - shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes and toothpaste, lotion, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, etc., as well as towels and cash.
These wonderful ladies shared their stories with staff and students today for White Cane awareness week. Thank you to the Canadian Council of the Blind, Miramichi Chapter. Your message was well-received :)
"The Home & School will be offering a canteen at the Valentine's dance on Thursday, February 9. This is a great fundraiser for the home and school and we need parent support! We are looking for a couple of parents to work the canteen and for items to be donated. Items can be treat bags, chips, pretzels, bottled water, popcorn, etc. The items can be dropped off at the school office anytime before Thursday evening. Please contact Tobi Desveaux - firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
Class 7S raised funds through a bake sale and collected donations from students and staff to make a donation to the local SPCA. Students made the donation just before Christmas. Another good deed from our School to the Community. Thank you to all who helped out and made donations of food for the bake sale and donated materials to the SPCA. Good job 7S.
Well, the school year is half over and it is finally time to have a Home & School meeting! I hope that you are all still interested in contributing your ideas and energy into the life of Dr. Losier Middle School. There are really only a few events that the Home & School organizes throughout the year and they are all approaching.
Class 6V and 6D organized a food drive at Christmas. They donated the food to the Saint Vincent de Paul Society who distributed 69 food hampers to local families at Christmas. This was their good deed from our school to the community.Thank you to all who donated something to this cause.
