First Drama Opportunity
Students interested in DLMS' drama club turned out on Thursday night. We discussed how to use our voices and emotion to present poems and skits. The theatre was alive with laughter and silliness as we delved into Bruce Lanskey's "Giggle Poetry". Students received a monologue to present next week. Friday, students signed up for an audition time.(Posted on theatre doors.) See attachment for all audition information.
Second Drama Opportunity
Every year Dr. Losier undertakes one major fundraising campaign. Our fundraiser was launched today. Every student has been given a sheet which lists the products for sale. This is the same product as last year and the response from clients has been very positive students, staff, and parents all found the cookies, muffins, and brownies were delicious.
Message to parents,
With the first week of school behind us, I would like to take the time to welcome all parents and students back for another year.
The vital role of parents, guardians and families in the education of their children cannot be underestimated. The support you provide to your children and their school helps create a positive culture which contributes to the success of every student.
Our annual Meet the Teacher Night will take place on Wednesday, September 21st at 6:00 pm in the school theatre. At this time you will have the opportunity not only to meet your child’s teachers, but to find out their expectations and procedures for the 2011/2012 school year. We will be drawing for several prizes during this evening, as well as electing our new PSSC members. We look forward to meeting you at this time.
Several dates we’d like you to take note of:
On Tuesday, we are looking forward to welcoming our grade 6 students with our WEB (We Belong) day. Our grade 8 WEB leaders have an exciting day of activities planned. The morning will be filled with tons of activities that will introduce students to Dr. Losier and build excitement for the coming year. Students should dress comfortably for an active day. "Gym type" clothes would be best suites to Tuesday’s activities. A morning snack and lunch will be provided at the school.
We are making a presentation for the night of the grade eight dinner on June 14, 2011 at 4:30 p.m. We would like grade eight students to bring in a baby picture (1month- 4 years old). Pictures are precious, so please put your name on it. That way it will get back to you.
Due to the inclement weather, tonight's performance will be postponed until next Wednesday, April 27, 2010. It will be at 6:30p.m.
All tickets that were sold for tonight will be honored next week.
