Today in the computer lab you need to finish your missing/wanted poster if it is not completed yet.

When completed, you are going to pick a vertebrate (amphibian, reptile, fish, bird, or mammal) and create an information sheet about it. Information that needs to be on it:

Photo or drawing of the animal selected (1 point)

Common name and scientific name (genus and species, for example Canis lupus familiaris) (2 points)

5 distinguishing features that set your animal apart from others (5 points)

At least one interesting fact or trivia about your animals (2 points)

This will be marked out of 10 points and will be due at the end of the week.

This week we are continuing with patterns and relations, and working on relation->table->graph, and graph->table->relation. Homework is due on Thursday (no school Friday!)

Extra help - Tuesdays during morning options, and Tuesday and Thursday during homework period. Other times are available, upon request.

Re-test - fill out the reassessment form (copies in class) and identify the day/time you want to come in

Create a poster or powerpoint presentation. Answer the following questions:

1. How does someone get this disease?

2. How is it detected?

3. What is the treatment (if any)?

4. Can it be prevented? If yes, how so.

Outcome A - Caring for yourself, your family, and your community

A1 - indentify injuries that are prevalent in the community

To do - reivew media (articles, video, etc) and report on local stories related to injuries and/or safety issues

Select an article or video, and include the link. Include a breakdown of hazards/dangers, what injuries took place, the consequences of the injury for the individual, family, and community, and any suggestions for prevention.

You are required to research 2 internet sites that explain adaptation and/or survival of the fittest.  Please make sure you include the url and the date that you found the source –

Example: www.findingadaptations.com/survival/html – Dec 11, 2008.

Within the research you have to include the url, date, and also a quote from that site that describes adaptations.  You are not permitted to quote google or Wikipedia – you must use actual url’s.

Today, during exploratory, visit https://app.safework.sa.gov.au/activitiesandtests/virtualhotel/?_ga=2.18... and visit the virtual hotel. Complete the Dining Room and Kitchen sections.

When you are finished with the safety hunt, search up muffin recipes that you'd like to cook this week. Make sure that the muffin has nutritional information with it. The recipes must use whole grains (whole wheat, oatmeal, etc), and each muffin must have less than 2g of saturated fat, 250mg of sodium, and 9g of sugar.

September 12 Homework

Design and draw a robot. It can be for one specific purpose or several, be creative!

Be sure to label all parts of your diagram and on a seperate sheet of looseleaf or on the back of your design describe what each part is used for.

 

This will be handed in and marked

10 points for your original drawing

10 points for proper labels and descriptions.
