Welcome back, Knights! We have been sending out communication over the last month, but we wanted to send a summary of information that will help families get ready for a safe return. Because safety is our number one priority, we have made some changes to our usual routines and operations in order to prioritize our school community's health and well-being during this return to school.
The countdown is on! Our Grade 8 Virtual Awards Ceremony will be a live event that airs at 7:00pm on Thursday, June 18th. You can access the livestream by clicking on this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1N-iXXsa10U.
Friday is dedicated to our Grade 8 students. When students come to pick up their report cards, we will have an awards table and media area set up outside where students and their immediate families can take pictures.
This is a note to inform you that you will be receiving a telephone call this week from our school. The purpose of the call is to complete the Department of Education's End of Year Family Survey. We look forward to speaking with you this week!
Each year, Dr. Losier Middle School hosts a banquet for our grade 8 students. The night consists of us celebrating the major awards at our school and to give a proper send of to our senior class as they begin their journey as Tommies. Most awards are selected by merit in either academics, athletics or contributions to the school by staff. However, our White Knight Award is one that students apply for. The White Knight Award typically involves the studets completing an application and afterwards having a sit down interview with administration to talk about their responses.
Learning From Home has been launched. We want to thank everyone who took time to complete our survey. We have used the results to identify which staff member will reach out to the students. In the coming days, you will see activity both on teacher pages and the Learning From Home tab on our website. We will continue to update the community using our social media.
