All students will be participating in our first School Writing Day,
Monday, February 18, during periods one and two. Students will write a
five paragraph essay about one of five given subject prompts. This
piece will be used as a snapshot of a student's independent writing and
revision skills. The results will help identify the topics to be covered
in writer's workshops.Students should get a good night's rest and have a good breakfast. This is occurring in sudents' homeroom classes.

Students in the Miramichi area have an opportunity to enjoy a professional presentation of an 18th century musical and admission is free! Jeunesses Musicales Canada, Miramichi Chapter, is hosting a performance of Mozart’s opera Cosi fan Tutte this Saturday, November 17th at 7:30 pm at Carrefour Beausoleil. The presentation is touring the Maritimes and Eastern Quebec with a cast of six young professional Canadian singers. The opera is described as light and delightful and although written in the late 1700’s this production has a 1960’s staging.
This year in the spirit of Remembrance Day, we’d like to honor our soldiers who are still serving in the Armed Forces. We will join with NBCC and prepare Christmas Shoeboxes for those soldiers who will be away from their loved ones this Christmas.
If you’d like to help us out, please bring in any of the following items to place in our Christmas Shoeboxes. You may find that you have extras around the house. We will gather these items until next Thursday, November 15. Any items will help! You can send them in to your homeroom teacher each day.
Next Home and School meeting is November 7, 2012 at 6:30-7:30p.m. Come out and support your child’s education! We are still looking for more members. Please read this important letter and join DLMS Home and School.
