Homework Nov.18

8F& 8M-   Read 30 minutes. 8M- Finish Transition sheet for tomorrow. Rewrite first 10 lines. All reading logs must be submitted for marks tomorrow. Don't forget: Wear bright, mismatched colors tomorrow for 25 cents. Celebrate our Spirit Day!   We sent 51 shoeboxes to the Canadian soldiers!

Remembrance Day Ceremony

I was so impressed with all our participants in today's Remembrance Day Service.  You made our school very proud as you shared the importance of remembering our veterans: those who survived; those who gave their lives. Mr. Johannes Bosma gave us an informative and moving presentation about his father and the Liberation of Holland. On Thursday, I would encourage all to attend a Remembrance Day Service!

8M-  Remembrance Day story/poem is due on Thursday. Tonight concentrate on your verbs.  Are they weak or vivid?  Revise your piece for strong, active verbs. Consider the suggestions from your peers and revise accordingly. 8F-  Remembrance Day story/poem is due on Thursday. Evaluate your piece for word choice and ideas using your scoring guides.  Record your score on your draft.  Continue to revise based on your peer conference today.

October 26 Homework

8F and 8M-  Write for 15 minutes on draft Remebrance Day poem/essay. We will continue with it tomorrow in class.         Read for 30 minutes. One more book should be completed by Friday.  Keep taking AR tests.         New and improved book review format is due on Tuesday.  Your findings from "What Makes a Good Book Review" will posted after our discussion from Friday's class.
