English 7F,8D,8S- Do a rough draft  comparing the movie to the book. See below. Gr.7 English-  Finish your draft copy. Revise for interesting, descriptive words  and strong verbs. Try to include similes and alliteration. Comparative Essay Outline Paragraph One- introduction which gives background information- what’s the book about, setting, author of movie, director of movie Paragraph Two-   discuss the similarities between the book and the movie    Give specific examples from the book/film.    Use statements that show what you think about the similarities and support what you are saying: I think… I believe… In my opinion … BECAUSE   Paragraph Three-  discuss the differences between the book and the movie Give specific examples from the book/film.    Use statements that show what you think about the differences  and support what you are saying: I think… I believe… In my opinion … BECAUSE   Paragraph Four- Decide which you liked better, the movie or the film, and explain why.   Paragraph Five-  conclusion Explain what you learned from the story.

Language Arts-  Work on your novel project. Remember they will be presented next Wednesday and Thursday!                            Vocabulary quiz on Wednesday and novel multiple choice quiz on Friday. 7Block-  Short Response on protagonist is due Wednesday.       Examine the protagonist/main character in your book.  How are you similar to your protagonist?  How are you different?   Would you change anything about the protagonist? Why? French- Those who haven't passed in their project must do so by March 20. Reading logs are due Wednesday, too.

All students will be participating in our first School Writing Day, Monday, February 18, during periods one and two. Students will write a five paragraph essay about one of five given subject prompts.  This piece will be used as a snapshot of a student's independent writing and revision skills. The results will help identify the topics to be covered in writer's workshops.Students should get a good night's rest and have a good breakfast. This is occurring in sudents' homeroom classes.

 7F Math: NOTHING!!!! Social Studies: project Feb. 26 Science: none tonight Francais: grammar sheet   7F/8D L.Arts -   This is the second day of literature circles.  Students need to do their role tonight responding to chapter 13 through chapter 18.  Your narrator chart should be finished.  Vocabulary 1 should be completed for Tuesday. 7F/8D L.Arts -   Do the illustrator role to represent today's reading from Holes.  Write definitions for the first seven definitons on Vocabulary Practice 1.8S-  Same as above.  Those that "forgot" to do the setting responses should have them finished for tomorrow. :)7BL -  Study the elements of a short story for your quiz tomorrow!  Know the words and their definitions. You can refer to your "Read like a Writer" sheets for examples that you used for "The Rabbit" and "The Dinner Party".Can't wait to see your raps tomorrow!
