Post- March Break Updates

Hi everyone,

For my students who will not be attending school for the next 14 days, I will be posting work on my Teacher Page starting tomorrow. Also, students and parents can reach me at krista.cabel@nbed.nb.ca and I will be sure to give a timely reply. I will also be setting up a Teams Site tomorrow for my students so that assignments can be handed in online and students can chat with me. Most students have received training on how to use Microsoft Teams, but I will include that information on my Teacher Page as well.

I have also just returned tonight from international travel, which means that I will not be at the school for the next 14 days. The students are in capable hands with Mr. Moar. With the Teacher Page, email, and the Teams Site, students and parents will still be able to connect with me as the classroom teacher. Mr. Moar and I will be working closely together to ensure that our students are receiving amazing instruction!

February Long Weekend Update

We have finished reading to the end of chapter 11 in The Outsiders.

8R - We are well on our way to creating our class movie trailer.

Today we read to the end of chapter 9. I don't want to say what happened, but...it's huge!

All grade 8 ELA classes are to complete the following assignment, which is due on Tuesday. In the case of a snow day on Friday, students are expected to use their time to work on this assignment.

Articles of the Week are due on Friday. If there is a snow day, they will be collected on Monday.

February 4th

8S and 8L: Today we finished reading to the end of chapter 6. We also completed a quick write and began our Article of the Week. Students will have time tomorrow to work on their Articles of the Week. They are due by the end of the week.

8R: We have read to pg. 93 of the text. We began our Articles of the Week today - we will have more time tomorrow to work on them.

Tuesday, January 28th

8S and 8L: We read to the end of chapter 4 and began an assignment on the eye motif in this novel. Students will have class time to work on this tomorrow and it is due on Thursday.

8R: Today we continued to work on our spelling program and our music project.
