Good morning,
I hope you had a great weekend and enjoyed the sun. I also hope you took advantage of the beautiful weather to go outside and get some fresh air.
Here are some suggested activities for the week of April 20th-24th.
Math
You can spend some time each day working on Dreambox. This is a great resource to learn new skills and keep your math abilities sharp. When you start a lesson, it is important to finish the lesson before moving on to other lessons.
This week, I am posting a question of the week to try. I will have the answer to this problem posted on Monday, April 27th. The problem can be found at:
For student with limited access to technology, options could include board games, cards, Yahtzee, crib, puzzles, sudoku, etc.
Another option in Math could be to practice multiplication facts. A great way to learn these is by using flash cards if you have them. Students could create their own flash cards. Long multiplications are also an option: multiplying 2 by 1, multiplying 2 by 2, multiplying 3 by 1, multiplying 3 by 2.
Science
For those of you who enjoyed the activity on birds last week, you can check out the activities at :
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qL8SmghxUDoSr9sCC3eCnq-JCo6udnFqmgJcaslSZM0/edit
(The slideshow is great with some cool links for videos.)
If birds are not your thing, don't forget that ASD-N has a new STEAM challenge this week. This week’s activity can be found at:
http://stemnorth.nbed.nb.ca/sites/stemnorth.nbed.nb.ca/files/doc//y2020/...
(This week is all about wind power. Build a pinwheel, a kite or an anemometer. Many options are available on this site for you.)
**If you did not do the STEAM challenge last week, you could check out the week 1 challenge and do some work with plants.
I have given you many options! Pick what interest you!
Have a great week!

Hello Students,
Your assignment in Math for this week is to start working with the Dreambox program. The goal is to spend a minimum of 30 minutes on Dreambox every day. If you have any questions, please send me an email.
For student with limited access to technology, options could include games (cards, Yahtzee, crib, puzzles, sudoku, etc...).
Have a great week !!

This is an English copy of the activity for week 2. It is posted in French for our immersion students but I thought parents might like a copy in English.
If you have any questions, please send me an email.
