Notes

Dear parents and students,

I hope you all enjoyed your break. For the next few weeks (from January 11th to 21st)  being online and beyond that still uncertain, DLMS will be running a temporary online schedule. I have already posted my homeroom (6/7S) schedule on this teacher page and I will also be posting it on their Microsoft Teams Class. Please note the schedule consists of six core subjects in the morning and Physical Wellness/Independent reading in the afternoon.  The schedule has been shortened to six 30 minute classes in the morning with 2 screen breaks, Lunch break and then the afternoon reading and wellness schedule.

For the duration of online learning,  I will be using Microsoft Teams as my teaching platform for all of my classes. Students will received their online learning schedule and will be required to join in on a class call with me during their scheduled class. The call invitation will be sent to students through Teams and they will be able to find it through their Class Team and/or their Teams Calander. As for work in class and assignments, they will be distributed through the Assignments tab in their Class Team. Students will also be able to submit their work in the same Assignments tab. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to send me an email at nancy.stewart@nbed.nb.ca

LEAF DRAWING

FRIDAY ART DAY- I am using Friday as Art day for distance learning as art is FUN and FRIDAYS are the BEST ;) Click the following link to complete an awesome drawing of a Maple leaf. This assignment is due next Friday. All you need is a pencil, an eraser and paper. Take your time and pause the video to complete different sections of your leaf. TIP: Pause the video after each step (outline, shading each section, etc.)  to complete your own art piece the best that you can. Then you can keep adding more details and shading. Have fun 7M!

This assignment is due next Friday (Nov. 19th)

Send me a picture of your work at nancy.stewart@nbed.nb.ca

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the final week of at-home-learning! 2 weeks ago, I posted a biography project outline for you to complete as your final piece for French immersion humanities block. Thanks to all of you who already submitted their work last week :) If you haven't done so yet, you still have time to send it to me by email (nancy.stewart@nbed.nb.ca) this week.

If you are all done your work, you can take a look at the activities posted below this message. They contain activities for grade 1 through grade 8. Make sure you choose activities in the grades 6-8 section ;) I also reposted the biography outline.

Have a great week!

 -Mme Stewart :)

Hello!!

I hope you are all doing well with your biographies- you still have time to send me your written paragraphs if you want me to look over it before starting to put everything together. Send me an email if you have any questions regarding this project. You may continue on with the choice boards if you enjoy that ;) Just scroll back previous post on my page to find those activities.

I miss you all so much!

BOnJoUr!

Here is the project you can start this week for humanities. It's divided in part A (research, note taking and writing) and part B (publishing the written piece into a final product). I have the guidelines attached to this note to help you along the way. The main topic is Black History since we didn't have time to cover that in February when we started talking about it. You can choose any individual who made an important positive impact for black communities here in Canada or around the world.

I'm always here to help you if you're stuck :)

Wow! :D Incroyable!

***Don't forget to check out the schedule on our school web site to come pick up your belongings this week.***

HI!!

Here's some fun stuff I prepared over the weekend for you! I still have the 3 choice boards that you can keep doing this week- I changed the writing topics and the reading article ;) ALSO, check out O p t i o n P r o j e c t ! If you decide to work on this, you can skip the choice boards for this week and work on your tech skills in video editing. Have fun with it. Youtube has many tutorials to help you out. I'm clearly a beginner when it comes to making videos, but I'm happy that I'm finally taking the time to play around with different apps and iMovie on my phone and learning how to do it myself. I will have other upcoming projects for you where you don't need technological devices ;)

Allô tout le monde! Comment ça va?!

First off, I miss you all so much! Not being able to see you, talk to you and see how you are all doing is driving me nuts! For now, staying at home is key for us to be together sooner. It was so amazing to see your faces on social media last week during our virtual spirit week. You guys are so awesome and full of knight pride :D

For FILA and social studies, we’re going to start very slow.  Get into a new learning environment in the comfort of your home.  It’s been a while since you’ve engaged in active learning, so we want to ease into it.  Once we do this, I have planned more options in terms of activities and projects that you can do at home.

I will be placing a One Week Plan on my Teacher Page every Monday.  These plans are meant to run from Monday-Monday.  Although we have not been instructed to formally assess students at this time, we are permitted to give feedback as you move through the learning opportunities.  That means you can contact me through email if you need any help (nancy.stewart@nbed.nb.ca).  I will also be posting on my Instagram account (stewart_mme) every Monday, same as my teacher page. I’m sure you know that I would be more than happy to help anyone who needs it.  I would be happy just to hear from you! I made a short Hello Video because I feel I can connect better in person than in a letter ;) I can’t talk with my hands in a letter Ha! Ha! Ha! Nor make all my facial expressions :D

As you will see in my Week One plan, you will have the opportunity to complete activities from each FILA component: reading, speaking and writing. In regards to reading, you can read a French book or online French articles that I posted in the plan. In terms of oral communication, it would be a great opportunity to call up your friends and have conversations in French J  Anything to put into practice your French skills would be great for this week. Finally, for writing, just a short paragraph is what I ask!

I will talk to you soon!

Mme Stewart J

Bonsoir!

Merci! Bonne soirée et à demain!

Students must read 15 minutes of their French novel each night. They must also complete a brief reading log in their homework scribbler.

Thank you :)
